The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products and materials meet the established quality standards before they reach the customer. This role involves conducting inspections, testing products, identifying defects, and maintaining detailed records. The inspector will work closely with production teams to identify issues, recommend solutions, and ensure continuous improvement in the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Inspections: Perform detailed inspections of products, materials, and processes to ensure they meet company standards and customer specifications.
- Identify Defects: Detect and document any deviations or defects in products, including visual inspections, measurements, and tests using specialized tools and equipment.
- Testing: Utilize testing equipment to assess product performance, durability, and safety. Ensure all tests are conducted according to industry standards and company procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and results. Prepare reports summarizing findings and recommend corrective actions if necessary.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to address quality issues and implement solutions. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to product quality.
- Training: Assist in training production staff on quality control standards and procedures.
- Problem Solving: Investigate customer complaints related to product quality and work with relevant departments to resolve issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest improvements to the quality control process and participate in regular quality audits.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, inspection, or a related field, preferably in [industry-specific experience].
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using inspection and testing tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices. Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and statistical process control.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inspection and documentation.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move products as needed.
