The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of databases in the organization. The DBA will also ensure the integrity and high availability of database systems, implementing security measures and optimizing performance to support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring system health and performance.
- Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
- Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
- Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
- Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
- Implement and manage database security, including user roles and permissions.
- Plan and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform database tuning and performance optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Develop, manage, and test database and information system recovery plans.
- Collaborate with developers and other IT staff to design and implement database solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven working experience as a Database Administrator.
- Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications.
- Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
- Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding.
- Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third-party tools.
- Familiarity with programming languages API.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Certification in database management (e.g., Oracle Certified DBA, Microsoft Certified DBA) is a plus.
- Must be fluent in English.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud-based databases and related services.
- Knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) like MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.
- Proficiency in data modeling and database design.
