Responsibilities:

• Prepare the bodywork of the car.
• Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
• Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired colour, according to specifications, using paddle or mechanical mixer.
• Pre check Jobs
• Sand equipment surfaces between coats of paint and/or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coats.
• Monitor painting operations to identify flaws such as blisters and streaks.
• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment.
• Ensure the paint shop facilities are maintained in good working order to meet mandatory H&S standards, including environmental controls.
• Health & Safety / Risk Assessments including COSHH regulations are always enforced including the correct use of PPE, Respiratory Protective Equipment.
• Advice / Mentor colleagues on spray painting of vehicles

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Qualified Spray painter
• Paint Mixing
• Must have managed a team
• Drivers license
• MerSETA Accreditation
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience after trade test
