The Project Manager is the strategic leader responsible for the successful execution of ERP implementation projects. This role oversees all aspects of the project, including scope, budget, and timeline. The Project Manager is the main point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. They are tasked with leading and motivating a multidisciplinary team to deliver a high-quality solution that meets client expectations and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Create and manage detailed project plans, including defining project scope, deliverables, and resource requirements.
- Lead and mentor a project team consisting of consultants, developers, and business analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Proactively manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation plans and communicating their impact to all stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and steering committee sessions to provide transparent updates on progress, budget, and key decisions.
- Manage client relationships and expectations, ensuring project milestones are met and any changes in scope are properly documented and approved.
- Oversee the quality assurance process, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure the final solution is robust and meets all requirements.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and ensure a smooth project handover to the support team.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 7+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years specifically managing complex ERP implementation projects from conception to completion.
- Skills:
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, influence, and manage cross-functional teams.
- Methodology: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Financial: Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
- Certifications: A PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification is mandatory.
